The VIP Club RoundupWelcome back to Club Thrifty’s VIP Club Roundup! This is the place where we bring you all of the awesomeness happening elsewhere in the personal finance blogosphere. But, before we begin, here is a listing of some of our recent articles:

We have also been lucky enough to have Holly guest post at Get Rich Slowly twice (Churning Credit Cards for a Fun ProfitPreparing for the Inevitable) and at Modest Money (5 Reasons I’m Buying Less for My Kid this Christmas) this week. With that shameless plug out of the way, let’s get on with the show!!!

Favorite Search Terms

As always, here are some of our favorite search terms that brough people to Club Thrifty over the past week:

stealing at toys r us as employee – Hmmm….

even the price of lots of things is inflating, she will not reduce her consumption mainly because she thought that christmas and new year is a special festival to celebrate.

my wife in club outfit at the mall

smart reply to ”id buck you off a cliff’ – “Go ahead and try it???”

i hate when i go online to do something specific – I guess you should go online to do something general?

how do the lannisters get so rich – I always love that one, which brings us too…

What is Holly Obsessed With This Week?

This week, Holly is obsessed with waiting for Game of Thrones Season 2 to come out on video.  As many of you may know, we do not have cable. HBO does not make their programming available to purchase unless you have cable – which is  a huge wasted opportunity BTW. So, we thought about buying a pirated version of GOT Season 2, but we decided that we didn’t want to sit in front of the computer for 10 hours to watch it. We’ll just wait until February when it hits Amazon streaming. For now, we’ll just have to enjoy the trailers…like this one!

  1. smart reply to ”id buck you off a cliff’ haha this is amazing!!!!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  2. Thanks for the mention!!
    Have a great weekend.

  3. “even the price of lots of things is inflating, she will not reduce her consumption mainly because she thought that christmas and new year is a special festival to celebrate.”
Wow! That is quite the search term!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. HAha interesting search terms!

  5. Thanks for the mentions Greg. I also enjoy the search about hating when going online to do something specific. I guess those people would rather scroll around with no purpose. That would be a great life!

  6. I hate that HBO is like that too. I hate to admit that I can never get enough of Tru Blood. Have a good weekend. BTW, I mentioned the Toys R Us post. It was a good one. http://eyesonthedollar.com/eyes-on/jr-ewing-edition/

  7. The “wife in a club outfit at the mall” is interesting, and ironic, because that’s where I wear all MY club outfits. Generally Tuesday night is “ladies night” at the Texarkana mall. I hang outside of Gamestop and see how many people get creeped out by my awesome hot pants.

  8. Thanks so much for the mention!! I’ve yet to see Game of Thrones but I hear great things.

  9. Your quotes make say Hmmmmmm! I will have to catch up on the reading this weekend.

  10. I love Game of Thrones the TV show too — have you read the books? For whatever reason, I’m not at all interested in reading them. It’s the first time where I’d really prefer to just keep watching them! Can you remind us when Season 2 comes out on Amazon?

    • I read the first few pages of one of the books and it moved too. friggin. slow.

I really like to fast pace of the miniseries and that is why I let Greg read all of the unnecessarily long books. He likes that sort of thing.

It is my understanding that the new season can be purchased on Amazon in February. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Those were some interesting search terms especially the first one.. really who looks this stuff up lol. Cheers mate and enjoy your weekend as well Mr.CBB.

  12. I get such a belly ache from everyone sharing their loony search terms. Have a joyous weekend, you two! And thank you kindly for the mention.

  13. Thanks for the link-back guys. I’ve never seen the show “Game of Thrones” – but it does look pretty good. I’ll have to check that out.

  14. Great work, especially guest posting at Get Rich Slowly. One of my favorite blogs.

  15. Never saw the show Game of Thrones, but I have the first book. I’ve been meaning to read it but never got into it. Now that it’s a big deal maybe it’s something I should look into.
Have a great weekend you two.

  16. Thanks for the inclusion guys! It’s appreciated. I love how you include a special segment on what Holly is obsessed with each week. It’s funny, but I think most of us go through these weekly things just like that.

  17. Thanks for the mention! I wish I had HBO and could watch Game of Thrones also. It looks like such a good show!

  18. Thanks for the mention!
