The VIP Club Roundup – 11th Edition

Welcome back to Club Thrifty’s VIP Club Roundup! As always, we are here to bring the awesome sauce to your personal finance reading, so let’s get right to this week’s roundup!

Just in case you missed them, here is a rundown of what we have published this week:

What is Holly Obsessed With This Week?

Last week, we started a fun little segment called “What is Holly Obsessed With This Week?”. In case you didn’t know, Holly likes things. Sometimes she really likes things…a lot. She tends to get focused on something and not be able to stop. So, we thought we’d share some of those things with you.

This week, Holly is obsessed with all of the people who are freaking out about the fiscal cliff and ObamaCare.  There is a lot of crazy going on over these manufactured crises right now. Apparently, threatening your employees when elections don’t go your way has become in vogue. As we’ll see soon, the sky isn’t falling. Not every business in America is going to have to close its doors. It will be OK. For now, let’s just think about the beach and enjoy this video.

Oh, and via a request from Jacob at iHeartbudgets, here is a picture of our new furniture! We finally got it…even though it isn’t the right couch. We get to keep this one as a loaner until our real stuff comes in.

I like how you say Holly is obsessed with things because Mrs.CBB is that way as well. Once she wants to learn or get her hands on things, she goes for it. Nice picture of your living room, looks cozy! Thanks for the mention as well, it’s always appreciated. Cheers Mr.CBB

Thanks for the mention. I too am really tired of everyone talking about Obamacare. It will be what it will be and we’ll all still be around to enjoy or complain about it. That looks live a comfy couch. I hope the real one is that cozy too. What do they do with loaner furniture?

Well, the couch they brought looks exactly the same except that it doesnt have electric recliners. That probably doesn’t sound like a big deal except that we got new furniture so that it would be more comfortable for my back and one of the things I loved about it was that it reclined electrically and I didn’t have the jarring feeling of reclining it manually. Know what I mean?
Anyway, it will take another few weeks to get my real couch in but they left this one here in the meantime since I’ve already waited a month for my furniture as it is. Once they take this couch back they said that they will sell it in their warehouse store on clearance.

I’m pretty tired of this whole fiscal cliff debacle. Someday perhaps American’s will get fed up with the republicans and Democrats and we’ll have something else. Perhaps tea party v.s. the 99% parties?
And nice furniture. I hope they’re comfy and don’t hurt your back Holly.

It is so comfortable! I have sat on it and relaxed all weekend and it was well worth the money just to be able to sit on my furniture. I had been sitting on the floor for over three years and it got old. Now I can feel like I can really relax in my own home!

I love the chair too! It is sooooooooooooo comfortable. I’m so glad that I finally broke down after all these years and bought something that is actually usable.

Thanks for the pic, guys. That looks cozy and nice and open. Just light up the fireplace, pop a bottle of wine and open a few tubs of cookie dough ice cream!

Also, can people bungie jump off the fiscal cliff?

Last night we did almost exactly that. We watched Snow White and the Huntsman and the Hunger Games and drank about 5 gin&tonics each…and we had a fire going. It was awesome. I love the weekend!!!
