While there are a ton of ways to make travel more affordable, one of my favorite ways to save money on travel is via my favorite travel credit cards. I love cards that offer flexible travel points, but I am also obsessed with airline miles and hotel points. By collecting all different kinds of travel currencies, my family is able to travel further from home and stay in nicer places than we would pay for otherwise.
One travel program I’m just getting to know is the Radisson Rewards program – which was formerly known as the Club Carlson program. This hotel program makes it easy to rack up points for stays in Radisson Blu, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson properties, among others.
The Benefits of Radisson Rewards
While Radisson Rewards is a program I haven’t used a lot, I’m pretty stoked about their rewards card offerings as well as their redemption rates. A free stay at a Radisson Hotel Group property starts at just 9,000 points per night, and even their highest tier properties are capped at just 70,000 points per night. While that’s a lot of points, it’s still less than you’d pay for a stay at a top-tier property with some other hotel programs like Hilton Honors.
Plus, there’s a ton of value to be had with certain Radisson Hotel Group properties worldwide. Some examples of solid redemption options include:
- Radisson Blu Hotel, Rome: 50,000 points per night
- The May Fair, London: 70,000 points per night
- Radisson Blue Hotel, Amsterdam: 70,000 points per night
It’s also worth noting that Radisson Rewards will let you pay with cash and points. This option can let you stretch your points further overall. For the Radisson Blu Hotel in Rome, for example, the cash and points rate is just 15,000 points plus $130.
How to Earn Radisson Rewards
One of the best ways to earn Radisson Rewards points is by signing up for their loyalty program and paying for stays within the Radisson Hotel Group portfolio of hotels. However, the easiest way to earn points in the Radisson Rewards program is to sign up for one of their co-branded credit cards.
Currently, the hotel credit card offering the best value in the Radisson Rewards program is this one:
Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card:
- Automatically get upgraded to Radisson Rewards Gold status with the Radisson Rewards Visa Card
- Earn up to 3 free nights! Earn one free e-cert for each $10,000 spent (up to $30,000)
- 40,000 renewal bonus points each year when you renew your card by paying the annual fee
- 10 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases at the Radisson Family of Hotels (not including prizeotel), 5 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases everywhere else
- Up to 85,000 Bonus Points – receive 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points once you spend $2,500 on your card within the first 90 days
If you’re interested in signing up for the card or learning more, you can do so here.

Hello Holly
1. Radisson Blue Hotel Rome
2. Rome and Radisson Blue Hotel Rome
3. Radisson Blue Hotel Rome
4. 40K Renewal points
Yea, I’d like to spend some time at the new Radisson Paulista Sao Paulo, Brazil. As far as a bucket list type thing, it’d have to be the Radisson in Copenhagen. Trips to the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg and Christainsborg Palaces, a side trip to the Nat. Museum would be great! After that maybe a jount to the Rosenborg Castle and a long afternoon at the Botanical Gardens should do it. As far as where I’d stay with all those points, Uluwatu of course. Where else???!!! Best perk? Gold Status Upgrade w/o a doubt.
Hello Holly

My favorite Radisson Rewards Visa card perks have to be getting automatic status and the sign up bonus. Can’t go wrong with those two things! #radissonrewardsvisa
My favorite Radisson Rewards Visa card perk is the 40,000 bonus points for paying the annual fee. It makes the annual fee seem worth it. #radissonrewardsvisa
Radisson Hotel & Suites Sydney, Australia
Thailand / Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit
Radisson Aquatic Resort Barbados
40,000 renewal bonus points

Thanks for the giveaway Holly!
I would be most excited to use the points at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Edinburgh! We made friends with a couple from Scotland on our Mexico trip last summer and it would be awesome to stay in such a cool hotel in Edinburgh and get to see them again!
Getting something to offset the annual fee is key to any card so the 40k renewal bonus is pretty solid.
Since most of the best Radisson properties are in Europe.. I’d spend the 100k points in European destinations… Maybe in Athens or Crete where I think we will go next summer!
i would love to use the points for a second honeymoon in Dubai #radissonrewardsvisa
Love the Radisson!! So hard to choose which location….probably either the one in Belize City (on my bucket list) or the one up in Buffalo NY too Niagara Falls for a romantic getaway with my husband for our 6 year anniversary.
I love your site! You have been a blessing to our family – we took an EPIC 3 week road trip all over America with our family. All the hotel nights were paid with points! whoo-hoo!! 🙂 Thank you!
I am working towards a European vacation with my family, so I would love the Radisson Blu in Amsterdam, Netherlands! 🙂 #radissonrewardsvisa
Awww, thank you 🙂 Glad we could be a little bit of help!
I am working on big trip to Australia. I would use the points towards Radisson Blu in Sydney. Thanks for the giveaway.
Thanks for the giveaway Holly!
I would love to use the points and travel to Edinburgh, Scotland! We met a couple from Scotland last summer in Mexico. We keep in touch often and would to see them again!
I would love to take my sons to New York City for the first time and stay at the Radisson Martinique on Broadway!
Thanks for this contest, Holly!
Since we’re a family of 5, I’d love to stay in the Country Inn & Suites in New York City or San Francisco (can I choose 2 places? :-)). Either one would make for a really fun, memorable trip with our kids!
Best perk of the credit card is 40k bonus points upon renewal (worth far more than the annual fee), but I also like the free gold elite status!
I would love to visit Croatia and stay in the Radisson Blu Split! #radissonrewardsvisa

I love the 40K renewal points perk every year. Thanks.
Nice! Didn’t realize they had a credit card. I was checking out their site and saw this was a top resort for adventurers: Radisson Blu Resort, El Quseir. Never heard of this location so I would love to add it to my bucket list!
