Barcelona is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. Nestled against the Mediterranean Sean, over 30 million visitors flock to the city each year.

Just ask any group of seasoned travelers what their favorite cities are, and Barcelona is sure to come up! And why not? Barcelona is home to beautiful beaches, great food, and incredible architecture. This modern city is one of the most unique spots in all of Europe, and it’s one you should visit at least once during your lifetime.

Our family visited Barcelona a few years ago, and you can count us impressed. The city’s relaxed atmosphere and contemporary feel stand in contrast to many of the “older” feeling destinations we’ve visited in Europe.

For me, the biggest takeaway was absorbing Antoni Gaudi’s whimsical architecture scattered throughout the city. It’s something you won’t find anywhere else, and it gives Barcelona a decidedly different vibe from the rest of the continent.

As with many major cities, Barcelona offers a sightseeing pass that can help you save both time and money. I happen to love most of these passes, but not all of them are right for every traveler. Today, we’ll take a look at the Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass to see if it’s the right fit for your travel plans.

Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass Review: How Does It Work?

The Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass by Go City is a sightseeing pass that includes entry to over 45 of Barcelona’s top attractions, monuments, and museums. All of the entry fees are conveniently packaged into the pass, helping users save time and money during their trip to Barcelona.

Go City offers two different passes in Barcelona: the All-Inclusive Pass and the Explorer Pass. The All-Inclusive Pass includes entry to all of the attractions and works on a “consecutive day” basis. This version comes in 2, 3, 4, and 5-day options. You can visit as many attractions as you like during your chosen timeframe.

With the Go City: Barcelona Explorer Pass, you’ll also get access to the same 45+ attractions. However, the Explorer Pass allows you to visit a set number of attractions instead of being all-inclusive. You can choose between 2 to 7 of the included attractions. The pass remains active for 60 days from your first use.

Similar to a card like the Roma Pass, your pass typically acts as your ticket to the included attractions. Simply present your mobile pass or paper copy at the gate, and your entry is included.

With that said, certain attractions do require reservations. You can check the individual attraction page on the pass website to see if a reservation is required.

Additionally, Go City Barcelona helps you save time by skipping the ticket lines at the busiest sights. Obviously, this can be super valuable, especially if you’ve planned a lot of sightseeing in Barcelona.

Top Attractions on the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass

Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass includes entry to over 45 of Barcelona’s most popular attractions, including:

  • La Sagrada Familia Guided Tour: €49
  • Park GĂĽell Guided Tour: €26
  • Camp Nou (FC Barcelona Stadium Tour): €28
  • Casa BatllĂł: €35
  • La Pedrera: €25

  • Poble Espanyol de Barcelona: €14
  • Casa Museu Amatller: €24
  • Sagrada Familia Virtual Tour 360: €22
  • Old Town & Gothic Quarter Walking Tour: €18
  • …and much more (find the full attractions list here)

Editor’s Note: Some attractions may require reservations. Additionally, some attractions may be unavailable, have limited hours, and/or may have reduced capacity. Please check with each attraction for the most current information.

Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass Pricing

Now that we’ve seen what some of the attractions cost, let’s take a look at how they compare to the price of the pass.

The Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is a consecutive day sightseeing pass which allows you to visit as many of the included attractions as you’d like, provided you do it within the timeframe specified. Again, the card comes in either a 2, 3, 4, or 5-day format.

Pricing for the All-Inclusive Pass is as follows:

PassesAdult Price (ages 13+)Child Price (ages 4-12)
2 Day All-Inclusive€124€89
3 Day All-Inclusive€159€104
4 Day All-Inclusive€179€119
5 Day All-Inclusive€199€129
*Current as of March 24, 2023

As you can see, the All-Inclusive Pass offers some excellent savings, provided you visit several of the attractions that are included. To get solid value from the card, you should plan on visiting at least 3 of the included attractions each day that your card is active. The more sights you visit, the better deal the pass becomes.

Here’s a look at the price of the Barcelona Explorer Pass:

PassesAdult Price (ages 13+)Child Price (ages 4-12)
2 Choice Explorer Pass€64€44
3 Choice Explorer Pass€89€69
4 Choice Explorer Pass€109€79
5 Choice Explorer Pass€124€89
6 Choice Explorer Pass€139€99
7 Choice Explorer Pass€149€109
*Current as of March 24, 2023

As I mentioned earlier, the Barcelona Explorer Pass allows you to choose between 2 and 7 attractions to visit. It is also good for 60 days. So, if you’re planning an extended stay in Barcelona, this pass may be a better fit.

Is the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass a Good Deal?

Let’s take a look at some examples to determine if the Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is a good value for you.

If you visit 6 of the most expensive attractions using the All-Inclusive Pass (2 attractions/day), regular admission to these sights costs about €239. With a 3-day Barcelona Pass priced at just €159, you’ll end up saving about €80 per adult, which equals a savings of about 33%.

However, if you visit the 9 most expensive attractions (3/day), the total cost of the attractions is €327. That is a savings of €168 per adult – or about 51%! Of course, it could be difficult (but not impossible) to fit in 3 attractions each day.

Let’s compare this to the 7 choice Barcelona Explorer Pass. Using the 7 most expensive attractions available brings us to a total of €269. The 7 choice Explorer Pass costs €149, so you’ll save roughly €120 per adult with this option. That breaks down to a savings of roughly 45%. The pass is also good for 60 days. So, if you’ll be in Barcelona for a week, you’ll have plenty of time to use it.

Unless you plan to visit more than 2 attractions a day, or you simply love all-inclusive sightseeing passes, I believe Go City’s Barcelona Explorer Pass is probably the better deal for most people. You’ll likely save about the same amount of money, and – since the pass doesn’t expire for 60 days – you won’t feel rushed to use it. With that said, both passes pack in a ton of value!

Top Reasons to Use Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass

Basilica de la Sagrada Familia

One of my favorite things about Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is that it offers a number of different guided tour options. The pass recently added tours of both the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia and Park GĂĽell. This is a major win for the pass!

As you walk around the city, you’ll see architect Antoni Gaudi’s mark everywhere. Although entry is included to several other Gaudi attractions, it goes without saying that you’ll want to visit his most important work – the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia.

This is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world, and you really can’t visit Barcelona and not visit this sight. Love it or hate it, this place is a must see.

Park GĂĽell

Park GĂĽell is another “must see” sight to put on your Barcelona sightseeing list. Designed by Gaudi, this place is actually a failed housing development. Now, it’s a park…and it’s having much more success.

You don’t need to spend a ton of time here, but it’s also a spot you probably want to hit. Now, a guided tour is also included on the Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass!

More Tours

Want more tours? You’re in luck! The Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass by Go City includes a guided tour of Camp Nou, Europe’s largest soccer stadium and home of FC Barcelona. It also includes a bus tour, boat tour, and a segway tour. A bike tour of the city is also included.

Additionally, you can select a walking tour where you’ll enjoy learning about Barcelona’s “Old Town,” or you can choose to ramble past some of Gaudi’s most famous buildings instead. These tours all offer professional guides who can help you understand the history and meaning of each sight more thoroughly. (Important note: Some tours require advanced reservations, so be sure to read the directions carefully.)

L’Aquarium

When Holly and I took our kids to Barcelona, one of our favorite stops was L’Aquarium Barcelona.

This family-friendly attraction boasts Europe’s only “oceanarium,” a 4-million liter glass tank filled with sharks, rays, sunfish, and more. There are also 14 themed aquariums holding over 450 different species of sea life. Of course, the kids also loved some of the “hands on” exhibits.

This place is really a blast, and I highly recommend checking it out.

Fast Track Entry

Who wants to waste their time waiting in line? Not me.

With the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass, you can skip the ticket lines at several of the city’s busiest attractions. This saves you valuable sightseeing time so you can see even more!

Other Benefits of the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass

  • Free Guidebook – With your purchase of Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass, you’ll also receive a free guidebook to help you get around the city. The guidebook lists opening and closing times for all the attractions on the card, and it also includes a map of the city to help you find your way.
  • Money Back Guarantee – Should you decide not to use or activate your Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass, you can receive for a full refund within 90 days of purchase.

Where the Pass Falls Short

In the past, I had some problems with this pass. However, most of my major issues have been solved! I mean, now that the pass includes a Basilica de la Sagrada Familia guided tour, a Park GĂĽell guided tour, and entry to the Picasso Museum, what’s not to love?

If I’m stretching to find fault, I guess I’ll say that I don’t like that the pass has a “purse value.”

Like other passes, including the Go City: Madrid All-Inclusive Pass, this pass has added a “purse value.” I’m fundamentally against adding a purse value to a sightseeing pass because it can limit the amount of value you get from it. If an attraction is included in the pass, you should be able to visit, regardless of how much it costs.

The purse value amount varies by the type of pass you purchase. For example, the purse value of a 5 day Barcelona All-Inclusive adult pass is €585. That means, the regular admission price of the attractions you visit can not go above €585.

Honestly, it is highly unlikely that you’ll end up hitting the purse value on any of Go City’s Barcelona pass options. Still, it is important to know that it is there.

Who Should Get the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass?

Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is a good fit for some tourists, but not everybody will benefit from buying the pass. I recommend the pass if you fall into one of the following categories:

  • First-time Visitors – If this is your first time visiting Barcelona, this pass could be for you. This Barcelona pass gives you access to over 45 of the most popular attractions in the city, helping you to plan your trip and save you money.
  • Heavy Sightseers – It’s not a guarantee, but visitors who hit 3 or more of the included attractions each day will almost certainly get their money’s worth from the All-Inclusive Pass, provided you don’t choose the least expensive options. If you’re in town for more than 3 days, the Explorer Pass may be a better fit. Run the math to determine which is the best value for you.
  • Architecture Lovers – One of the most unique things about Barcelona is the architecture. There is really no place like it. This pass hits the Gothic Quarter and the top Gaudi sights in the city, including sight specific tours, a Gothic Quarter walking tour, a Gaudi walking tour, and even entry to Gaudi’s gravesite.

Who Should Avoid the Pass?

  • Light Sightseers – If you won’t visit at 3 or more of the included attractions each day, skip the All-Inclusive Pass. The Go City: Barcelona Explorer Pass is a good alternative.
  • Those With No Interest in Going “Inside” – Many of the attractions include entry to Gaudi’s architectural sights. If you’re somebody who simply wants to walk by and see the outside, save your money and do it for free.
  • Travelers on a Tight Budget – As we noted above, if you’re on a tight budget and just want to walk by these sights, take a pass on the pass.

Tips for Using the Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass

Casa Batllo - Barcelona Pass review

Think the Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is right for you? Here are some tips to make the most of this sightseeing card!

  • Visit as many attractions as possible – With the All-Inclusive Pass option, the more attractions you visit, the more value you’ll get out of card. I recommend visiting no less than 2 (and probably 3) attractions each day that the card is in use.
  • Start early – When sightseeing in Barcelona, get an early start each day. That way, you can pack as many attractions in as possible. In general, starting early in the morning also helps you avoid crowds.
  • Don’t activate your All-Inclusive card in the afternoon – One of the biggest mistakes you can make is activating your All-Inclusive Pass late in the day. Keep in mind that your Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is activated the first time you use it. Because the All-Inclusive Pass works on a consecutive day basis, you don’t want to use up your first day by activating it at 4 P.M.
  • Save non-included attractions for another day – You may also be interested in some of the city’s other attractions that are not included on your card. Save those sights (or the beach) for after your pass has expired, or visit them before you activate the card.
  • Visit Attractions Near Each Other – Many of Barcelona’s most popular attractions are spread out across the city. Save time and see more by planning to visit attractions near one another on the same day.

Go City: Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass Review – The Verdict

If you’re traveling to Barcelona, Go City’s Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass is definitely worth consideration. With access to over 45 of the most popular attractions in Barcelona, the pass could certainly save you time and money.

I think Go City’s 7-day Barcelona Explorer Pass is likely your best option. You’ll save about as much as you would with a 3-day All-Inclusive Pass, however you’ll have 60 days to use it.

With that said, if you don’t have a huge interest in entering the city’s many architectural attractions, you may wish to skip the pass altogether. However, for those who love sightseeing and want to visit many of Barcelona’s most popular spots, this pass could help you hit most of Barcelona’s highlights. Better yet, it can help you save money while doing it.

Thanks so much for reading! Enjoy your trip to Barcelona, and – until next time – happy traveling!

  1. Greg,
thanks for all your info. We are traveling to Barcelona 21/11/18 and have already purchased the Barcelona Pass. My only concern is for the Gaudi locations [Casa Mila & Casa Batilo that the pass covers], is it necessary/wise to make reservations in advance (like one needs to make for Sagrada Famila) ?

Can they refuse your pass if all their time slots are sold out?

    Thanks

    1. You have fast track entry at Casa Mila. IMO, since you’ll be at Casa Batllo during the off season, you should be fine. Have a great trip!

  2. Nikki Resendiz says:

Would we be able to use the HOHO bus each day with the Barcelona 3 day Pass, or only 1 day?

    1. No. The HOHO bus tour is only good for 1-day, regardless of the length of your Barcelona Pass, so choose your day wisely 🙂

  3. Hello, Can I purchase the Barcelona Pass in person and pay cash at the redemption Center? I prefer to do it that way due to the currency conversion. We are traveling from the States.

  4. I saw this review and proceed to buy the Go City pass for my Barcelona trip earlier this month but it was such a horrible experience!

We bought an all-inclusive pass and it was such poor value. The hop-on-hop-off buses were impossible to get on, we missed 5 buses before cutting our losses and found alternative transport means. Sagrada Familia is also supposed to be included as part of the pass. We booked the tour as stated by Go City, but the tour guide didn’t show up when we arrived at the specified timing. Calling customer service was useless as nobody responded, phone calls/emails/Whatsapp went unanswered. Calling the tour operator was useless as well, they kicked us back to Go City and told us to take up our issues with them.

I do not recommend buying this pass at all, if you face any problems, good luck with getting anyone to help you.
