Citi Double Cash Card

image of citi double cash cardThe Citi Double Cash Card has long been considered one of the best cash back credit cards on the market. Still, this card does things a bit differently than its competitors. Here’s a quick look at how the card works:

  • Welcome Offer: None
  • Earns cash back twice for a total of 2% cash back
  • Earns 1% cash back on purchase & additional 1% cash back on payment
  • 0% intro APR on balance transfers for first 18 months
  • Annual Fee: $0

With the Citi Double Cash Card, you’ll earn cash back twice every time you buy something. First, you’ll earn 1% cash back when you make the purchase. Then, you’ll earn an additional 1% cash back when you pay it off. So, you’ll effectively earn 2% cash back on your purchases – as long as you pay them off.

One of the cool things about this card is that there are no categories to worry about. Every purchase earns the same rate  – 1% cash back when you buy and 1% cash back when you pay for your purchase. Additionally, you can earn as much cash back as you want. Unlike some other cards on this list, there are no caps on the amount of cash back you can earn.

Most impressively, the Citi Double Cash Card offers an introductory 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 18 months. A balance transfer fee applies ($5 or 3%, whichever is greater), so consider that before making a transfer.

Final Thoughts

Cash back credit cards are a great way to earn rewards for your everyday spending. The process is simple, rewards are easy to understand, and you can effectively save money on every purchase you make.

As always, be responsible with your credit cards and don’t overspend to hit your cash back goals. Doing so eliminates the benefit you may receive by using the card. Pay them off on-time and earn some nice cash back rewards to supplement your savings.
