Good morning, Club Thrifty enthusiasts! A lot of you have emailed to ask where in the hell I’ve been. Welp, since you asked, I’ve just been busy getting our new house ready to move into. Greg and I have painted the whole friggin’ thing over the past few weeks, as well as done a bunch of the prep work for the professionals who are currently installing our new floors and plumbing. A few weeks ago, I wrote about how Greg’s Prius died and left us stranded on the side of the road. I also mentioned that it was Greg’s birthday and that we were headed out of town for a fun weekend trip. I didn’t go into detail about it at the time, but I’m now ready to share the details of our almost-free weekend getaway. Oh, and aren’t you excited? Of course you are! [Read more…]
I’ve written about my obsession with credit card rewards several times. You can read those posts here, here, and here. According to my spending projections, we should be able to spend $5,000 by the end of October and Greg will have earned the 25,000 SPG points. [Read more…]
Anyone who reads this blog knows that I am a credit card rewards junkie. I am always jumping from card to card in order to score the best sign up bonus or reward that I possibly can. I hold no loyalty to any bank out there, so once I have achieved the reward that I am after, each card gets kicked to the curb. Furthermore, I don’t really care that much if my credit score takes a few dings because we no longer use debt to finance our lifestyle…and I still have great credit to boot! I almost feel bad for the amazing rewards that I racked up in 2012. Almost. Recently, I added up our credit card rewards for the year and realized that we have made around $2,500 in 2012 alone. That’s CASH MONEY BABY!!! This is how we did it… [Read more…]
