There are lots of ways to earn free money on the internet.  If you want to do things the easy way, you can start by using a browser app like Swagbucks or Qmee that pays you tiny sums of money for using their search function.  If that’s not your cup of tea, you can sell stuff on Craigslist, buy and resell items on eBay, or even start a blog like this one with the intention of monetizing it.

But did you know you can earn free money – $10 a pop – for taking surveys or tests?

user testingHow to Earn Free Money at UserTesting.com

It may sound crazy, but that’s exactly what happens over at UserTesting.com.  Signing up for the program is easy.  You simply fill out the online form and submit a “sample test” in order to become approved for the program.  Once you’re approved, you can earn $10 for every 15-20 minute test or review you complete.  The “tests” or “reviews” you complete will be reported directly to companies that rely on your feedback to market their products and improve their websites.  Here’s how you can get started:

Application Process:
  1. Signup at UserTesting.com
  2. You will receive an email with a link to download the screen recorder software
  3. Download the software
  4. Start your sample test.  When you finish the sample test, it will automatically upload to UserTesting.
  5. Your sample test will be reviewed within 7 days.  Once you’re accepted you can start taking real tests for money!

How Much Can You Earn?

How much money you can earn depends on how many reviews or tests you complete each week or month.  However, most users can expect to participate in at least 1-2 surveys each week, and earn $10-$20 per week in the process.  If you completed two reviews per week year-round, that could easily add up to $1,040 per year!  That isn’t enough money to turn testing into a part-time job, but every little bit helps.  And since most paid survey sites only pay $2 or less for a survey, UserTesting.com is a much better way to spend your free time.

So don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t earn free money on the internet.  To get started, all you need to do is sign up for the program and follow the prompts.  It won’t take much of your time and, you never know, you might even enjoy providing feedback to big business as they develop their products and marketing plans.  Even better, you can start earning while you sit on your butt and watch your favorite TV show, and all in the comfort of your own home.

Start now and you could easily build up enough cash to pay for Christmas later this year.  Or you could start building a vacation fund designated for Spring Break 2016.  I would probably take that money and stash it away in my fund for travel, but hey, that’s just me.  Once you start earning, you can decide what you spend it on.  Just don’t spend it on these ridiculous items, okay?

Have you ever gotten paid to take surveys online?

  1. This is an interesting post, Holly! I have been paid for surveys online but in Italy they just pay 1 or 2 Euro for each survey. I find your proposal very interesting, do you think that they can accept people who live in overseas countries too?

  2. I take surveys with Pinecone Research. I\’ve been with them for close to 5 years now. They pay me $3 per survey but each on only takes about 15 minutes to complete, so I make $12/hr. It\’s fun and I don\’t do it as a source of income. The money part is just a small bonus for reviewing products. Sometimes I even get the new product sent to me to test in real life!

  3. I believe I’ve heard of them, but have never used them. It sounds like a nice little way to pick up a little extra cash, especially if you need the money.

  4. I keep putting off getting on this gravy train, and I should get off my butt and do it.

If $10 to $20 per survey sounds good (and it does), get a load of this. I have an MD email acquaintance that does medical internet surveys for (drum roll, please!) $75 EACH! He routinely budgets to take in $10,000 a year doing the surveys. :O

    1. So. Do you have the site information for the medical surveys?

  5. Interesting…$10 sounds pretty good. When I did surveys before they “paid” me in points which could be transferred to loyalty programs. It was a decent amount of time spent for very little benefit. But this sounds more promising.

Pretty cool! Most of those survey deals aren’t really worth the time. Will have to check this one out.

  7. Nice! I’ll definitely look into them. I’ve never seen a survey site pay that much.

  8. Interesting will have to check out this one out. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Need to check this out, wondering if their is any age restriction? Maybe need to let my teenagers know about this.

  10. Never heard of this. I may definitely have to try it out since it sounds like I could make more money than my beloved Swagbucks. You know, in my copious spare time. Sigh.

  11. Very interesting! Who would have thought that by just watching tv, I could earn some income! Yay! I’m gonna sign up for this. Thanks Holly!

  12. You have brought up a really fantastic point. Thank you for sharing this post.

  13. Do you have the Medical survey information?

  14. Usertesting is a favorite of mine. Someone referred me there a couple months ago and I’ve had good luck. I’ve made a couple hundred bucks. What a nice little bonus!

  15. I just signed up for this today and told my daughter to as well! I enjoyed doing the sample test and have already been asked to complete my profile. Hoping to see some tests in the next week or so! Sounds fun!

  16. Who can verify that the software you download to your computer isn’t spyware or malicious in any way?
