We love credit cards! We love them because they are convenient. We love them because they make it easy to track our expenses. Most of all we love them for their rewards! Although some in the personal finance sector see the use of all credit cards as inherently evil, we do not agree. While there are many people that we strongly recommend to stay away from credit cards, there are just as many people who are able to use credit cards in a responsible manner.
We use a credit card for nearly everything that we purchase. In that way, we are able to continuously rack up the best credit card rewards that we can find. However, let me stress, we never carry a balance on our credit cards. We only use them if we have enough cash to pay them off at the end of the month. In this way, we are essentially paying cash for everything we buy but are still getting to take advantage of the credit card rewards.
With that said, we have to face the fact that credit cards are not for everyone. Many people who have spending and debt problems should steer clear of them in order to protect their own financial health. If you are unable to pay off your cards each month, we strongly recommend that you stay away from them. Not only are you endangering your financial well-being, but – by paying interest on your balances - you are counteracting the advantages that credit card rewards provide to you.
We strongly discourage applying for a credit card for those people who have a history of credit card debt or are not prepared to use credit wisely. However, we do believe that using these cards can work to your advantage when used responsibly. For those readers who have a handle on their finances and are prepared to pay their credit cards off each month, we have put together this list of the Best Credit Card Rewards.
